Welcome to World Class Putting – A QLG Master Class.

My name is A.P. O’Neill, founder of Quantum Leap Golf (QLG).

For many years I’ve worked with both professional and amateur golfers, helping them unlock dramatic improvements in performance.

The philosophy behind QLG is simple.

Golf improvement does not come from random experimentation.

It comes from clear understanding, structured systems, and measurable targets.
When those three things come together, golfers experience what we call a Quantum Leap in performance.

This is a system.

And nowhere in golf is that leap more achievable than in putting.

A Simple Miss That Changed Everything

Recently I’ve been coaching a professional golfer from Uganda called Irene.

You’ll be seeing more of Irene in our demo videos, and you’ll also be seeing her perform and win on the world stage over the coming months and years.

We had been working together on several areas of her game, with a particular focus on improving her putting.

One day she sent me a short video clip.

In the video she missed what appeared to be a very simple three-foot putt.

On the surface, that might not sound remarkable.

Even the best players in the world occasionally miss short putts.

But that miss turned out to be a gift.

It prompted me to go far deeper into the mechanics and principles of putting than ever before.

We began analysing everything:

Line.
Pace.
Set-up.
Geometry.
Decision making.

Not casually — but in extreme detail.

The deeper we went, the clearer something became.

There are many different putting styles in golf.

Different grips. Different strokes. Different techniques.

But beneath all that variety is something far more important.

Universal principles that govern every successful putt ever holed.

Through that work with Irene, those principles crystallised into what I now call:

The Three Universal Laws of Putting.

Very few golfers understand this.

If Irene had not missed that simple three-foot putt, we might never have uncovered them in the way we did.

And this Master Class might never have existed.

Why Putting Matters So Much

Ask professional golfers how important putting is and you’ll hear the same answer again and again.

Putting is at least half of the game.
In many cases, it is even more.
It is also where the largest scoring improvements can be made.

Yet this is where many golfers are the most confused.

Golfers constantly experiment.

Different grips.
Different strokes.
Different theories.

Something works one week, so they keep it.

The next week they try something new.

And slowly, confusion builds.

They stop knowing what is right and what is wrong.

They are simply trying things and hoping something works.

But once you understand the underlying laws that govern putting, the picture becomes very clear.

There may be many different putting styles.

Once those truths are understood, everything becomes far simpler.

The Power of a Clear Target

Another problem golfers face is that they rarely know what they are actually aiming for.

What does world-class putting really look like?

In professional golf, we have clear data.

Across the PGA Tour, the very best putters average roughly:

1.5 putts per hole
≈ 27 putts per round

Sometimes the number may be slightly higher — perhaps 28 or 29 — but anything in that range represents world-class putting performance.

This number becomes our North Star.

It gives us something extremely important:

A clear mathematical benchmark.

Very few golfers train with that level of clarity.

Once you know the target, you can begin to build a system that moves you toward it.

Proven Improvements

Over the years I’ve worked with players who began with putting averages of 34–35+ putts per round.

Through structured coaching and improved understanding, those players reduced their averages into the 20s.

This is measurable improvement.

In other words, they moved from ordinary putting to world-class numbers.

And that was achieved using an earlier version of the system you’re about to learn.

The approach you’ll see in this Master Class is the refined version — strengthened through the analysis that came out of that moment with Irene.

The Return on Investment

Whether you’re a professional golfer or an amateur, one thing is always limited:

Time.

You only have so many hours available to practise.

Which means improvement must be viewed in terms of return on investment.

Where will the biggest scoring gains come from?

For most golfers, the answer is clear.

Better putting.

Better putting means:

• more putts holed
• fewer three-putts
• lower scores
• greater confidence under pressure

And ultimately:

more tournaments won and more rounds enjoyed.
